Over the years of getting together with my dutch oven friends, I have noticed that they really do honor the theme of “Food, Fellowship, and Fun” at dutch oven gatherings (DOG). Without a doubt, the food is excellent motivation to get all of our cooking equipment and dutch ovens out for the day. I’ve had so many wonderful meals at our local and regional DOGs I’ve lost count. But I bet if I polled our groups, they would agree that spending time with DO friends is really what gets us to the DOG, which naturally leads to lots of fun memories. I think the theme of Food, Fellowship and Fun is deceptively simple and remarkably elegant in capturing the essence of our Dutch Oven Gatherings.
