Friday morning, everyone at the 2011 National Dutch Oven Gathering awoke to cloudy skies and rain. Everyone adapted quickly, covering up cast iron and seeking shelter since cast iron rusts almost instantly. It won’t be the first time or last for iron chefs who are use to adapting to the challenges Mother Nature throws at us.
Here, the Dutch Oven Diva had to quickly improvise when the rain came barreling down just as her demonstration began. She moved into the main shelter and kept the demonstration going. Her topic was about how to cook healthy recipes in a dutch oven. She made delicious vegetable spring rolls that came out of her oven golden brown. The rain didn’t stop her at all!
