March Regional DOG – Getting Ready for the National DOG

The 6th Annual North Texas Regional Big DOG was held in Canton Texas, March 16-18, 2012.  A group of about 50 gathered to see what it will be like to cook in our black pots at the Canton Civic Center.  We set up a common cooking area in some of the RV sites so that cooks have access to power and water.

The planning committee for the 9th Annual National Dutch Oven Gathering worked out many details, including how to set up the outdoor and indoor spaces, how to create a good “flow” of pedestrian traffic, and what types of tools and equipment will be needed to set up the area.

We made many new friends, including Randall and Brett from Arkansas.  We are members of the Big Hat Club.

We had fun shooting a lot of photographs and shot some video clips to create this video, answering the question “What can dutch oven folks expect when they come to Canton?”
